Global Riffs

After finishing two books, I feel it is about time to relax... and so the good folks over at WIUX - the college radio station at Indiana University - have given me the opportunity to produce a weekly radio show.

The show is called Global Riffs, and focuses on cool, alternative, underrepresented, independent or otherwise remarkable tunes from all over the world. Each week I'll bring in students and faculty from the 140+ nationalities represented on campus here in Bloomington, Indiana (USA).

I'm really excited about this, and cannot wait until the first show airs (live): Wednesday, January 24th, from 08:00-10:00 AM (EST). The live stream of WIUX can be ripped online, too.

FYI: for the first show, I've lined up a couple of my favorite tunes, including:

Soulwax - Too many dj’s
Urban Dance Squad - Demagogue
Zola - Mdlwembe
Opeth - Harvest
Roisin Murphy - Ramalama
Barkmarket - Whipping boy
Desparecidos - Greater omaha
Spinvis - Bagagedrager
The Young Gods - Skinflowers

... and of course, every show will end with a track from all-time fav's Dimmu Borgir...
